“The best attraction is the view”

Have you ever visited Barcelona? And did you know that there’s an amusement park close to the city? I’m not talking about PortAventura World (that’s actually a 90-minute drive from Barcelona), but I’m talking about Parc d’Atraccions Tibidabo. This small amusement park can be found at the top of Mount Tibidabo, within a short distance from the city centre.

ROLLER COASTERS

Don’t expect the biggest thrills at Tibidabo; you’ll have to take a train to PortAventura for that. Even the park’s signature roller coaster Muntanya Russa is a family-friendly experience. The ride is fun and surprisingly fast, though. Tibidabo’s other coaster, a powered coaster built by Zamperla, is a lot less interesting than its neighbour. The ride is simple, slow and boring, but those Spanish tourists seem to love it. Strange people…

ANYTHING ELSE?

Thanks to its unique location, Tibidabo Park offers some amazing views of Barcelona, its architecture and the Mediterranean Sea. Most of the park’s rides even benefit greatly from these stunning views. The Ferris wheel, for example, is rather small but you just can’t beat those vistas. Another attraction with a view is the Flying Carpet ride. This may seem like a lame family ride, but the location makes it very special.

Tibidabo’s best attraction is the view of Barcelona. The second-best attraction is undoubtedly Hotel Krüger, a walk-through horror maze. I usually don’t like this type of scary entertainment, but I had heard some very good reviews about this haunted house. That’s why I gave it a try and that was the best decision of the day. The theming is elaborate and most actors play their roles with great success. I’m still not a fan of Halloween and horror mazes, but Hotel Krüger was definitely worth some anxious moments. Don’t miss this!
